Development of an Inclusive Playground located at Cottonwood Park is a collaboration between the Richardson East Rotary Club and the City of Richardson.
Our Mission – To create a community playground that will inspire children and families of all ages and abilities to have fun in a safe inclusive environment.
So what is an “Inclusive Playground“? Who better to tell you than, Taylor Lipsett, Three-Time U.S. Paralypmian, Two-Time Gold Medalist. Play the video where he tells you about the inclusive playgrounds. While you watch it, realize that the attributes described by Taylor also make it accessible by everyone with a physical limitation, such as Grand-parents taking their Grand-kids to the park. Fundraising Goal Increased to $500,000 to Cover Enhancements
As of Oct 15, 2018, the fundraising goal was increased to $500,000 to address changes in the baseline to address enhancements identified by the Inclusive Playground Design and Development team and citizen inputs at a Aug 2018 public input forum. We are close to reaching that goal having raised $429,884. The team is holding a $50,000 matching funds grant from Rees-Jones Foundation with about $35,000 available to match any donation made before Dec 15, 2018. Your donation will be matched to double the impact of your donation.
