Development of an Inclusive Playground located at Cottonwood Park is a collaboration between the Richardson East Rotary Club and the City of Richardson.

Our Mission – To create a community playground that will inspire children and families of all ages and abilities to have fun in a safe inclusive environment.

So what is an “Inclusive Playground“? Who better to tell you than, Taylor Lipsett, Three-Time U.S. Paralypmian, Two-Time Gold Medalist. Play the video where he tells you about the inclusive playgrounds. While you watch it, realize that the attributes described by Taylor also make it accessible by everyone with a physical limitation, such as Grand-parents taking their Grand-kids to the park. Inclusive Playground Fundraising is On Track for Success

Donate Today to “Make It Happen”

It’s a pleasure to report that we’ve reached 96% of the fundraising goal set almost a year and a half ago.  The Inclusive Playground team thanks everyone for their support and donations.

An open house was held on August 9th to get community inputs on the Inclusive Playground concepts. The team will be assessing those inputs and things we’ve learned over the last year and a half to make this playground be the best it can be with the funds available. Click here to see the Concept presented at the August 9th open house.

Where Can I Donate?

We need to raise $250,000 to bridge the gap between the City bond funds of $200,000 available and the cost to make the playground inclusive. While we are seeking larger donations from corporations, there is no donation too small.  Donations of all sized contribute to the playground’s success.  You may make your tax deductible donation through the Richardson East Rotary Foundation by clicking button below.
